Subject of Desire
2020 - ongoing
For centuries, women have been depicted in art and popular culture as objects of desire—passive, ornamental, defined by the gaze of others. In Subject of Desire, Berlin Boudoir reclaims this narrative, turning the lens on herself to explore eroticism as an innate, vital force rather than a performance for external consumption. These self-portraits navigate the intimate, the sensual, and the bold, while maintaining a poetic subtlety that resists easy categorization. Eroticism, here, is not confined to sexuality or the bedroom — it permeates everyday life, woven into gestures, textures, and moments of self-possession. Through metaphor and visual play, the artist challenges ingrained perceptions of female sexuality, presenting desire not as something projected onto women, but as something they own, shape, and embody on their own terms.
